More than any other event that I’ve experienced, coasttokosci is a team effort. Whether that’s a small family crew like I had last year, or a bigger crew full of good mates, it’s a journey that involves everyone from start to finish.
Having those people with you is part of what makes this so special and so much more than just an epic long run.
There are highs and lows, but everyone has the same goal of reaching that finish line. Not only that, but along the way cheering on and supporting all the other runners and crews out there on their own adventure.

Of the three years I had been along, running or crew, I finally got to experience the unofficial after party.
.
Before everyone goes back to their normal lives, we get to share stories, laugh at hallucinations, say our goodbyes until the next time.
.
This race doesn`t end at the finish line 🤠

Back in 2020, I was asked to join team( morgan.lindqvist ) as a 2nd pacer and a last minute addition due to injury - little did I know we would become the winning team.
Before then, I knew little about C2K but would soon fall in love with this community coasttokosci and in the back of my mind - it’s something I’d love to do one day??
Over the weekend I had the privilege of toeing the line in one of Oz prestigious Ultra race “Coast to Kosciuszko 240km”. An epic start from the beautiful beaches of Eden all the way to the highest point in Australia, Mt Kosciusko.
The scenery was spectacular - changing from glorious sunrises and still water w/ alpine winds and full-blown hail with wind gust hitting 80km/h - not to mention the snow covers up top. Only the Snowies can throw four season at you in one day - which I’ve experienced in the past and this was no exception.
Having a great crew is absolutely essential for this type of race. I was lucky enough to have been able to assemble one from my local running community the the_440 :
lewisss89 -pacer
Dylan-pacer
Elden-crew chief
Julia-assis crew
Marie-assis crew
Being able to see them every 5km gave me the lift I needed. Those little moments of connection keep you going more than anyone realises. The team rallied and did what was needed to keep US moving forward - Everyone knew their part and stepped up when things got dark and pushed when needed. The last 40k was a BIG blur - fatigue, hallucinations & sleep walking. At times, I never thought I would see the end. Literally, RAIN, HAIL or SHINE But WE got it done!!! Honestly I can’t thank our brilliant team enough. Their unconditional support, lots of laughs, NO if NO buts attitude. Thank You!!!
Also a huge thank you to Greg and Mickey, the rest of the C2K team for another great race.
Still buzzing that I’m finally part of the Akubra Family.
What an epic journey.”

Started on the beach with the sun coming up… finished 240km later after living through two nights and two sunrises.
Coast to Kosci gave me everything—dehydration, hailstorms, thunderstorms, rain, and an icy summit in the dark that felt a world away from where I began.
There were moments I was emptied out, moments I questioned why I was still moving… but I kept going.
42 hours 53 minutes of highs, lows, and hanging on when it mattered.
This race doesn’t just test you—it shows you who you are when everything else is stripped away.
Grateful for every step.
None of this would have been possible if I wasn’t given the opportunity by coasttokosci I am super humbled to even toe the start line with this select group of humble individuals.
samharvey_cloudlander that kicked my ass into gear for 14 weeks leading into the event.
coasttomountainrunning for keeping me fuelled and hydrated throughout the event.
My support crew who not only gave up 4 days of there life but stayed awake to most of it braving the cold, the wet and the windy end. romanwatson blue.collarathlete
Most of all none of this would have been a success without my best friend my crew chief and my wife keishatomkins you made sure that I had everything I needed when I needed it and reminded me at the end when the wind was howling and my knees where buckling that this is what I wanted to feel. ❤️

And just like that, somehow Coast to Kosci 2025 is over.
This year brought sunshine, tailwinds, hail, lightning, thunder, headwinds, snow, glorious sunrises, epic sunsets, and most importantly it brought together a group of amazing people. Running 240km is no mean feat, and we are so proud of each and every person who lined up on the beach to start the journey from Eden to Kosciuszko. There was so much joy, humility, laughter, and community spirit out there on the course and that is what Coast to Kosci is all about.
This year saw Pam Muston complete her 10th Coast to Kosci, and our youngest ever male and female runners, Jackson Munn and Maia Nagy, both finish strong. We handed out many new Akubras this year but also saw some very experienced runners have to make tough calls that meant they weren’t able to finish the race.
The weather, Australian countryside, and the Snowy Mountains are tough and unforgiving, but are so beautiful and so breathtaking. It’s one of the many reasons C2K is a race unlike any other.
We hope each and every one of you who was involved in C2K 2025 enjoyed everything it had to offer. You’re all a part of the Coast to Kosci family. ❤️

coasttokosci 2025.
.
In 2022, I was last running here as 1 of 50 selected athletes. Since then, I have had melanoma removed and embraced this opportunity to fundraise for the australianskincancerfoundation however confirmation of more melanoma being found was told to me the day before Coast to Kosci 2025. That and a close neighbour passed away the same day.
.
Coast to Kosci tests your mental and physical capabilities, it`s hard enough being selected let alone completing the 240km distance.
.
It was tough, a toe was giving me grief early on and made every step painful. But, for the crew and supporters I have, it seemed miniscule.
.
The dot watchers with live tracking would have seen me drop places, but the crew stepped up and power hiked to push me along.
.
Rain, gail force winds, hail storm, lightning snow and a patch of sunshine, there was no variation of weather we missed.
.
More to follow in a race report, but for now I want to thank everyone that donated and shared my story for fundraising, my crew for giving up so much and helping my on this kick ass race, and everyone that reached out with kindness and encouragement. I am so proud to have you in my life ❤️
.
17th place out of 68 starters ain`t bad.
.

🌄 Coast to Kosci Ultramarathon; you’ll never find a race quite like it.
This year, watching amazing humans take on the journey from Eden to the summit of Kosciuszko reminded me once again that the people who run this are nothing short of Dead Set Legends. 💥
I had friends out there smashing limits, pushing through the dark hours, leaning into community, and trusting their bodies and minds when the wheels threatened to fall off.
Dot-watching from afar, I felt every climb, every pause, every moment of grit and it gave me space to reflect on my own Coast to Kosci adventure last year.
14 hours of vomiting, dirtnaps, and moving forward when I didn’t think I could thanks a group so supportive it taught me the true meanings of vulnerability and purpose.
This race isn’t just kilometres and vert. It’s a pilgrimage. A test of heart. A reminder that we’re not meant to do hard things alone. Coast to Kosci is special because of the people; the runners, crews, volunteers, and the wild, loving, resilient community that runs, walks or stumbles beside you all the way to the summit.
So here’s to the legends who toed the line this year. You’re incredible and I had FOMO for 46 hours! I know I will be back to Twofolds Bay, and it may be sooner than I planned. Please don’t tell my husband. ❤️🔥

Sadly we made the decision to withdraw from the 2025 Coast to Kosci at about 122km. Without going into too much detail I’ve been sick for a few weeks and started having trouble with breathing, coughing and nausea as night fell. We had a discussion as a team and decided that this is not the right time to push through. Long term health is always the priority.
It’s disappointing to not finish, but it was the right decision and I’m incredibly grateful to have had an awesome first day, taking it all in and enjoying the time sharing miles with other runners and having fun with all the crews.
A massive thanks to my crew, who worked tirelessly to keep me fed, watered, and motivated and were nothing but supportive and energetic for the entire journey. This type of event can’t happen without a good crew, and any time I see them it’s a huge boost.
I generally thrive on mountain trail runs which makes C2K a little different for me. What keeps bringing me back is that this isn’t just a run or a race to me. It’s about the journey from the water to the highest point completely under your own power, and sharing that journey with a bunch of good people on your crew and the entire C2K family. It’s about running into Towamba and seeing the ocean of people there enjoying the breakfast that raises funds for the small local school. It’s about chatting to the person running next to you and learning about the reasons that they are doing this, and the things that motivate them. It’s running through varying, vast and beautiful country. It’s mooing at the talkative cows as you run past. It’s about having a team to support you through tough decisions, and then enjoying soup from the wonderful volunteers at Dalgety Hall (while one of the crew is outside dressed as a unicorn). It’s cheering on people at checkpoints, and standing at Charlotte Pass seeing some epic achievements. It’s chatting to people at breakfast the next day, then watching the presentations.
A huge congratulations to everyone in the 2025 Coast to Kosci!

Coast to Kosci, 37:59:00.
240km & 5500m elev. 25th overall.
I’m incredibly grateful for the opportunity to become the youngest in coasttokosci history.
From Twofold Bay beach in Eden to snow at the peak of Mt Kosciusko, this unique race puts its competitors through every challenging condition.
Thank you to my supports & crew. Not every moment in an ultra marathon is bliss, some points of simply tough. Thank you Baden, Martin & Ania for supporting me all the way from sea to summit.
Instead of a metal, this race celebrates with an Akubra hat & a pin signifying each finish, I hope to be back for another pin x

C2K 2025
This year, I arrived at the start line already carrying fatigue - the kind that settles into both the body and the mind. Five weeks ago, I set a new 6-day world record, and while I recovered as best I could, I knew there was every chance this race could go either way. But being invited to C2K for the third time is something I’m genuinely honoured by, and I wasn’t going to walk away from that.
For a while, everything felt good. Strong, even.
And then, suddenly, it didn’t.
I’m walking away with absolutely zero regrets. No, I didn’t finish, but honestly, life goes on, the sun still rises, and I’m still proud of the athlete and the person I showed up as.
Am I okay with the call I made? Mostly, yes. Could I have pushed further? Physically, without a doubt. My quads were oddly sore, but the body was capable. But mentally, I was completely done. And anyone who’s run long enough knows that the finish line isn’t reached with legs alone - you need your mind with you. Mine wasn’t, and that’s the honest truth.
Just under 100 miles isn’t something to be disappointed about. In fact, I’m proud. You’re not meant to finish every race - and stopping when you need to is part of the sport. If anything, this has only lit a fire to return next year, stronger, rested, and ready.
My incredible crew - the #crewgers - were brilliant. From support to laughs to keeping things rolling smoothly, even for just joining us intime to get the Airbnb open so we could stumble in early.. thank you (and sorry about that Beth). Every one of you played a part, and I appreciate you more than I can say.
My awesome coach flyerultra, thank you for being honest, and supporting my decision to compete, even though you know me so well, you knew this would be hard to finish. And thank you for the hug at Dalgety.
Huge congratulations to everyone who toed the line this year, finishers or not. It takes bravery just to start.
Hoping to see that start line again in 2026. 🏃♀️🔥

“What a weekend and what a race it was.
Over the weekend I had the absolute privilege of running the Coast to Kosciuszko 240km. An epic journey from the calm beaches of Eden all the way to the highest point in Australia, Mt Kosciuszko.
The scenery was unreal shifting from sunshine and still water to alpine winds and full-blown hail with gusts hitting 80km/h. Only the Snowies can throw every season at you in one day.
Having a great crew is absolutely essential for this race, and I was lucky enough to have the best:
RQ legends Gavin and Adele, and of course my amazing wife Megan.
Seeing them every 5km lifted me every single time. Those little moments of connection keep you going more than anyone realises.
The 37km from Jindabyne to Charlotte Pass ( Adele`s joke- Charlotte is a bigger a bitch than Carol) it was brutal test of will, but I was determined to get to that summit. About 4km up Kosciuszko, a storm rolled in and it honestly felt like a war zone… hail, lightning, rain, freezing temps, visibility dropping fast. Starting the climb at 1pm and not getting back down until after 6pm made it the longest 20km of my life.
But we got it done.
Huge thank you to Greg and Mickey for one cracking race. Well done, fellas what an experience.
Still soaking it all in. Still buzzing. Still grateful.
What a journey.”

It started with a dream. So dream on coasttokosci mitchclarkruns travels.of.a.wandering.soul happytrailspod
They both sent in their application, unassumingly, dreams came true and they were both set to be on that beach in November.
Dedicating their training from July to be on the beach @ Eden and across the countryside to the highest point of Australia. One of the biggest challenges of this race is the different terrain and landscapes you travel across, different climates. It changes quick and easily derail your race.
This year saw cooler conditions and the start of the race that was quiet pleasant, but then turned hot before it cooled down again quickly as you could feel the icy winds from mountains, till the next day in the afternoon, when a storm came out of nowhere and hail belted down, runners ducking for cover into the cars, 2 inches of sleet covered the roads. Wind blowing you off the road and a moment later the suns out and your asking for a hat & sunglasses.
Was a magical moment where the two teams embraced each other on their achievement 3/4 of the way to the summit going in the opposite directions. Almost at the summit I decided to leave Mitch with the crew in the idea to see Nikita finish & then be able to see Mitch finish. So reliving lasts years sprint to the finish I tore down the mountain reaching 1k from the finish to see Nikita but she thought I was another runner chasing her down and with fear started sprinting 😂 so the PSD I had soon came back to her and I wasn’t able to catch her. But was so proud of her to show that grit & determination.
Mitch hit the summit with a glow across the mountains and made it back with a proud wife, so happy they were able to share those moments. The 2 crews were incredible and thank you for all the support.
Welcome to the family and wear that Akurba proud.

We just had the privilege to crew Henry on the 240k Coast to Kosci ultra, what a test of endurance….mentally , physically and emotionally… starting at Eden, finishing after climbing the summit of Mt Kosci (still covered in snow and gale force winds) …. So super proud 🥰
